Specialties

Depression

I know things feel heavy right now, and it might seem like nothing can change—but you don’t have to go through this alone. Therapy is a space just for you, where we can work together to ease some of that weight and help you find a way forward. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come —just showing up is a step toward healing. You deserve support, and I’m here whenever you’re ready.

Feeling Unorganized or Unproductive

If you’ve been feeling chronically unorganized or unproductive, it can be frustrating, especially when it feels like no matter how hard you try, things don’t fall into place. You don’t have to keep carrying that burden alone. Therapy can help you explore the underlying causes of these struggles, develop better coping strategies, and create a more manageable routine. Together, we can find ways to break the cycle and help you build the structure and motivation you need to feel more focused and in control.

Toxic Relationships (Romantic and Non-romantic)

Being in a toxic relationship can leave you feeling drained, confused, and unsure of your worth. It’s hard to break free from patterns that aren’t healthy, but you don’t have to keep tolerating the pain. Therapy can help you understand the dynamics of these relationships, build stronger boundaries, and gain clarity on what you need to heal. You deserve to be in relationships that lift you up, and I’m here to support you in finding the strength and tools to make that possible.

Difficult Parent(s)

Having a difficult relationship with a parent can be incredibly challenging, especially when their actions or words continue to affect your sense of self. It’s normal to feel caught between love, frustration, and a desire for independence. It’s okay to feel conflicted or hurt by this—your feelings are valid. Therapy can help you process those emotions, set healthy boundaries, and find ways to heal from the impact of this relationship. You deserve to feel empowered, understood, and at peace.

Abuse

What you’ve been through matters, and it wasn’t your fault. You are not defined by your past, and you don’t have to keep carrying the pain alone. Therapy can be a safe, judgment-free space to process what happened, heal at your own pace, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust. You deserve to be heard, and I’m here to support you.

Feeling Confused About Your Future

Not knowing what the future holds can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. It’s okay to be uncertain—sometimes, that’s where growth begins. Therapy can help you explore your thoughts, identify what truly matters to you, and find a sense of direction at your own pace. You’re not lost—you’re in the process of discovering what’s next, and I’m here to support you along the way.

Low Self-Esteem

I know it’s hard when you feel like you’re not enough, but I want you to know—you matter. Your worth isn’t based on what you do or how others see you. Therapy can help you challenge the self-doubt, recognize your strengths, and rebuild a sense of confidence in yourself. You are valuable, just as you are, and you don’t have to face this journey alone.

Difficulties in Parenting (Due to Children who Struggle)

Parenting a child who struggles can be overwhelming, and it’s normal to feel lost, frustrated, or even exhausted at times. The challenges you're facing may not be easy to solve, but therapy can provide you with the support you need to navigate them. This space is for you to process your emotions, vent your frustrations, and find ways to take care of yourself while you support your child. You don’t have to go through this alone—I'm here to help you manage the weight of it all.

Struggles in a Relationship with a Spouse/Partner

Relationships can be tough, and it’s okay to feel unsure about where to go from here. Whether you’re struggling with communication, trust, or just feeling disconnected, therapy can help you untangle your feelings and gain clarity. You don’t have to figure this out alone—I’m here to support you in finding a path forward that feels right for you.

Struggles in Friendships

Feeling disconnected from friends or struggling in a friendship can be really painful, especially when it feels like you don’t have the support you need. It’s okay to want deeper, more meaningful connections, and you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy can help you process your feelings, navigate friendship challenges, and build the confidence to create the kind of relationships you truly deserve. You are worthy of real, supportive friendships, and I’d love to help you find your way there.

Chronic Illness

Feeling lonely can be painful, and I want you to know that your feelings matter. You’re not alone in this, even if it feels that way right now. Therapy can be a space where you feel heard, supported, and helped to reconnect with yourself and others in meaningful ways. You deserve connection, and I’d love to help you find it.

Anxiety & Worry

Anxiety and worry can feel like a never-ending loop, keeping you stuck in ‘what ifs’ and worst-case scenarios. But you don’t have to stay trapped in that cycle. Therapy can help you break free from constant overthinking, find relief from the tension, and regain a sense of control over your mind and emotions. You deserve to feel lighter, and I’m here to help.

Loneliness

Living with a chronic illness is more than just a physical struggle—it affects your emotions, relationships, and sense of self. It’s okay to feel frustrated, exhausted, or even hopeless at times. Therapy can offer you a space to process these feelings, find ways to cope, and remind you that you are so much more than your illness. You don’t have to face this alone.

Struggles in a Relationship with a Family Member

Struggling in a relationship with a family member can leave you feeling hurt, misunderstood, or even torn. Family dynamics are complicated, and it's not always easy to navigate conflicts or differing expectations. Therapy can offer a safe space to explore these challenges, express your feelings, and gain clarity on how to approach the situation. You deserve peace in your family relationships, and I’m here to support you in finding healthier ways to communicate and heal.

Difficulties in Childhood

If your childhood was difficult, it can leave lasting scars that impact the way you feel and interact with the world today. It’s normal to carry those memories, but they don’t have to define you. Therapy can offer a safe space to process those past experiences, heal, and begin to understand how they’ve shaped who you are now. You deserve to break free from the weight of your past and create a future where you feel more at peace with yourself.

Loss/Grief

Losing someone important can bring an overwhelming sense of grief that can feel all-consuming at times. It’s normal to feel lost, heartbroken, or unsure of how to move forward. Therapy can offer a safe space to process your emotions, remember your loved one, and help you navigate the complexities of grief. You don’t have to go through this alone—together, we can work on finding ways to honor their memory while helping you heal and find peace in your own time.

About Me

I had the desire placed in my heart very early on to help those struggling and unable to experience life at its best. I believe that no matter what it is that you are facing, with proper support it is not too big to be dealt with. Although you may feel alone in your situation, there is always hope and healing waiting for you if you just reach out.

Through both personal and professional experience, I am equipped to support and guide those struggling with many different issues including: depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity issues, difficult friend/family/romantic relationships, chronic pain and illness, sexual abuse and trauma, parenting issues, disorganization, loneliness, grief, and hopelessness.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I have been married for 30 years and have one adult child. I enjoy the beauty of nature and spending time with family, friends, and pets.

Insurance Reimbursement

Insurance companies often reimburse a percentage of the therapist's fee, usually after you meet an out-of-network deductible. For example, after you meet a $1,000 deductible, your insurance may reimburse 50-80% of the session cost. I am an out-of-network provider and work with Mentaya. For out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle insurance paperwork for you (at a charge of 5 percent per claim) to make sure you get reimbursed per your plan.

  • If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, it means they will cover a portion of the cost when you see a therapist who doesn't have a direct contract with your insurance company.

  • Unlike in-network providers, who bill your insurance company directly, with out-of-network therapists, you typically pay for the session upfront and then submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • Out-of-network benefits give you the flexibility to choose a therapist based on your needs and preferences, not just those in-network.

How It Works

1. Sign up for Mentaya:
https://mentaya.com/inviteclient/checkmybenefits

2. My practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance
follow-up.

4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling
any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling
insurance companies.

It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully
submitted, or a full refund of their fees.
